PCU RN Job in Omaha, NE

CHI Health Lakeside is seeking a Registered Nurse for a 112-day travel assignment in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU). You'll work 3x12-hour shifts on a high-flow unit caring for adult patients with mixed medical/surgical, cardiac, and stroke backgrounds. Weekly pay is $2,384.64.

Shift and Schedule

• 12-hour shifts: days (6:30 AM–7:00 PM) or nights (6:30 PM–7:00 AM)
• 6-week scheduling rotation; 6 weekend shifts required per rotation period
• Night weekends: Fridays and Saturdays
• Holiday rotation shared with permanent staff
• Floating required to Med/Surg, all hospital areas, ICU, and ED based on abilities

Clinical Responsibilities

• Patient ratio: 1:4 on 28-bed PCU unit
• Titrate drips including Heparin, octreotide, insulin, Cardizem, nitroglycerin, and other IV infusions
• Read and interpret telemetry monitoring
• Operate specialty equipment: Code Carts, LUCAS Machines, Hoyer lift, Sit and Stand
• Charting via EPIC system
• Nurse aide/patient care tech support available at 1:14 ratio

Orientation and Requirements

• First week: classroom-based orientation
• Two 12-hour unit-specific orientation shifts
• Pass/fail open-book exam (minimum score: 90%)
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• Valid driver's license at submission
• Reside more than 50 miles from facility

Workplace Policies

• Navy blue scrubs required
• Artificial nails prohibited in patient care departments
• BSN not required
• Request time off upfront (7 or fewer days per 13-week contract); additional RTO not approved
