About this role
You are an Allied Health Professional X-Ray Technician joining Baptist Healthcare System, Inc. in Elizabethtown, Kentucky for an 89-day travel assignment. This is a full-time role working Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, with weekly pay of $2,575.20. Your assignment begins September 28, 2026.
Your Responsibilities
- Greet patients and explain radiographic procedures, addressing concerns and questions to ensure comfort and understanding
- Obtain relevant medical history and clinical information to assist radiologists in image interpretation
- Position patients appropriately and provide clear instructions for maintaining stillness during examinations
- Monitor patients throughout radiographic examinations, observing for any signs of distress or discomfort
- Perform a variety of radiographic examinations including general X-rays, fluoroscopy, and specialized procedures
- Operate radiographic equipment to obtain high-quality diagnostic images, adjusting exposure settings and positioning techniques as needed
- Apply radiation safety principles and ALARA guidelines to minimize patient and staff exposure to ionizing radiation
- Review radiographic images for quality, ensuring proper positioning, exposure, and image clarity
- Perform basic image processing techniques such as cropping, collimation, and annotation to enhance interpretation
- Conduct quality control tests on radiographic equipment and accessories to ensure proper functioning and regulatory compliance
- Document examination details including patient demographics, procedure notes, and imaging findings in the electronic medical record or radiology information system
- Maintain accurate records of radiation exposure, imaging parameters, and quality assurance measures
- Collaborate with radiologists, physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate imaging services and facilitate patient care
- Follow infection control protocols and maintain a clean and sterile environment in the radiology suite
