Clinical Lab Scientist Job in Machias, ME

Down East Community Hospital is seeking a Clinical Laboratory Scientist to join our medical laboratory team on the night shift. You will perform laboratory tests with accuracy and precision, reporting results directly to physicians for use in diagnosis, treatment, and disease monitoring.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Performing a full range of laboratory tests across hematology, chemistry, microbiology, immunology, and other departments
• Accurately reporting test results to support clinical decision-making
• Assisting in the general operation of the laboratory and maintaining organized workflows
• Participating in quality assurance programs to ensure accuracy and reliability of testing
• Maintaining and troubleshooting laboratory equipment
• Working independently and applying professional judgment in daily operations
• Serving as a general supervisor for waived, moderate, and high complexity testing after completion of probation

Requirements:

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Medical Technology or related specialty
• Certification or registration as a Medical Technologist (MT) or Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT)
• National certification through AMT or ASCP required
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Knowledge of principles, methods, materials, equipment, and techniques of medical technology
