SLP Job in Tacoma, WA

You will work as a Speech Language Pathologist at St Joseph Medical Center, a Level 2 Trauma Center and Certified Primary Stroke Center in Tacoma, Washington. This is a 91-day travel assignment running from June 1, 2026, with a weekly pay of $2,524.63.

Schedule and Setting

• Work Sunday through Thursday, 7:45 AM to 4:15 PM (5x8 days)
• No weekend or holiday requirements
• Floating assignment—you may be assigned to St Joseph Medical Center, St Francis, St Anthony, or St Clare facilities
• Hospital may cancel up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment

Your Responsibilities

• Treat 7–8 patients per day in an outpatient setting, or a combination of 4 outpatient and 3–4 inpatient patients
• Provide bedside swallow evaluations and follow-ups independently
• Conduct communication evaluations and follow-ups
• Administer outpatient standardized tests
• Support acute inpatient, acute rehab, skilled nursing, and outpatient services
• Work with patient populations including post-concussion, CVA, TBI, and head & neck cancer cases

Requirements and Orientation

• Current BLS Certification required
• CCC-SLP (Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology) required; CCC-A not accepted
• Department-specific orientation will be provided
• You will use the EPIC charting system
• Dress code: dark blue or black scrubs for both outpatient and inpatient settings
