RN (Registered Nurse)

RN - Med Surg

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour shifts: 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM or 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• Weekend requirement: every other weekend (Saturday/Sunday)
• Required to work 2 Fridays per schedule
• Self-scheduling and blocked schedules allowed when unit needs are met
• Patient ratios of 1:6-7
• Work with post-surgical, orthopedic, medical-surgical, pneumonia, dialysis, palliative care, hospice, end of life, and chemotherapy patients
• May be assigned to both 'clean' and 'dirty' patient hallways simultaneously
• Must be comfortable caring for COVID patients
• Handle patients on remote telemetry (monitors located on 3rd floor)
• Manage heparin drips and comfort care medications
• Work with BiPAP, CPAP, and high flow oxygen managed by respiratory therapy
• Float only to other medical-surgical units when needed
• One shift orientation with preceptor
• Use EPIC charting system
• Work into permanent staff holiday rotation
• Required certification: BLS
• Dress code: Navy blue scrubs and jackets
• Must reside within 50-mile radius and provide copy of unexpired driver's license
• BSN not required
