PCU Registered Nurse Job in Kansas City, MO

Join BJC West – Saint Lukes North Hospital's Progressive Care Unit as a Registered Nurse working 3x12 night shifts. This 91-day travel assignment offers $2,212.53 weekly pay with a start date of July 13, 2026.

Role Overview

You will provide direct patient care in a Progressive Care Unit setting with a 1:5 patient ratio. Your responsibilities include cardiac monitoring, telemetry interpretation, IV therapy, blood product administration, central line care, PICC management, heparin protocols, and cardiac drip management. You will also manage chest tubes, tracheostomies, wound care, and isolation precautions while supporting patients through pre- and post-cardiac procedures, hemodialysis management, feeding tube care, and respiratory equipment management.

Requirements

• Current RN licensure
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• Previous charge nurse and teaching hospital experience preferred
• Experience in Medical/Surgical, cardiac telemetry, Emergency Department holding, neuro stepdown, and PCU/stepdown units

Schedule & Expectations

You will work three 12-hour night shifts per week with guaranteed hours (3 shifts per 13-week contract). The schedule includes 8 weekend shifts (Friday, Saturday, or Sunday combination) within each 6-week period. You may be assigned holiday shifts and charge nurse responsibilities as needed. Maximum rest time between assignments is 7 days.

Flexibility & Support

You will float between Medical/Surgical units, Telemetry, and Medical-Intermediate as needed. You may also float to the Emergency Department for inpatient holding support. Twelve hours of orientation will prepare you for the role and facility workflows.
