RN (Registered Nurse)

RN - ICU

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour shifts with options for day shift (6:30 AM - 6:30 PM) or night shift (6:30 PM - 6:30 AM)
• Maintain 1:2-3 nurse-to-patient ratio for adult patients
• Care for 33-bed ICU unit with average daily census of 16 patients
• Manage patients with trauma, cardiac conditions, overdose/substance abuse, sepsis, post-stent, pacemaker placement, stroke, vascular cases, renal failure, heart failure, and respiratory distress
• Required to titrate cardiac drips, insulin, and sedation medications
• Read, interpret, and document cardiac monitor strips using GE monitoring equipment
• May float to PCU or Med-Surg units maintaining typical ratios (1:4 or 1:5)
• Work every other weekend and minimum of 2 holidays within contract timeframe
• Complete 1 shift of unit-specific orientation
• Pass open-book skills exam with 90% minimum score during orientation
• Must respond within 30 minutes if called back from on-call status
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• Driver's license required and must live outside 50-mile radius
• Artificial nails prohibited - refusal to remove results in contract termination
• Use EPIC charting system
• Hospital may cancel up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment
