Endoscopy Technician Job in Rochester, NY

URMC Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester, NY is seeking an Endoscopy Technician to join their gastroenterology team. This is an 89-week travel assignment beginning June 8, 2026, with an 8-hour shift and weekly pay of $1,430.

Position Overview

You will support endoscopic procedures by preparing equipment, maintaining sterile and high-level disinfectant environments, and assisting clinical staff. You'll work Monday through Friday days with night call responsibilities as needed.

Key Responsibilities

• Disassemble, inspect for defective parts, and perform preventive maintenance on endoscopes and procedure supplies
• Perform pre-cleaning protocols including inspection, leak testing, cleaning, and high-level disinfection of all endoscopes
• Apply aseptic technique principles during equipment preparation and maintenance
• Follow established reprocessing protocols for endoscopes and accessories
• Determine appropriate high-level disinfection methods based on manufacturer specifications
• Check and calibrate equipment according to facility protocols
• Perform ambulatory technician duties including vital sign assessment and patient transport
• Maintain sterile and high-level disinfectant integrity throughout all procedures

Qualifications

• Allied Health Professional credential
• Minimum 2 years of experience in endoscopy or related technical role
• Completed at least 1 prior travel assignment
• High-Level Disinfectant (HLD) certification highly encouraged

You will work in a hospital setting supporting a high-volume endoscopy department. This role requires attention to detail, understanding of equipment sterilization protocols, and ability to support the clinical team efficiently.
