Opportunity:

RN - Med Surg Tele

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• Every other weekend requirement with 4 total weekend shifts per 4 weeks
• Holidays worked on a rotation basis based on unit coverage
• 1:4 patient ratios on a 30-bed Medical Telemetry unit (T5)
• High acuity patients including gynecological surgeries, pre-liver transplant, ESRD, cellulitis, pneumonia, diabetics, and DKA
• Must be able to read EKGs using Philips telemetry monitoring system
• EMR system: Cerner
• Must have IV experience; SWAT RN available for difficult IV sticks
• Ventilator experience required; patients on BiPAP and CPAP must be independent
• Respiratory therapy and pharmacy support available 24/7
• 2 PCTs available on the unit; charge nurse on duty with no patient assignment
• First to float to MS/Tele, possibly Westgate or AZ General Laveen Campus
• Floor-specific orientation: 2 days on the floor
• Must pass SIMs Lab on Day 1 of orientation covering Foley catheter insertion and central line dressing changes - pass/fail
• Additional orientation topics include lifts, restraints, and wound care
• Must maintain sterile field competency as these skills are performed frequently
• Must have natural hair color and no facial piercings
• Men must be clean shaven for fit test
• Scrub color: Navy
• Must have own vehicle
• Level 1 Trauma experience required
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS
• BSN not required
• Hospital can cancel up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment or 3 shifts for assignments less than 13 weeks
