About this role

Children's Medical Center Dallas is seeking a Medical Assistant for its Pediatric Medicine department. This is a permanent placement position offering the opportunity to work with critically ill pediatric patients across multiple campuses.

  • Shift: 3x12 days, with variable scheduling including days, evenings, nights, and weekends as part of 24/7/365 coverage. Current shifts include 10-hour evenings (1:00 PM - 11:00 PM) at Dallas Campus and 12-hour days/nights (7:00 AM - 7:00 PM, 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM) at Dallas and Plano campuses.
  • Scheduling: Self-scheduling in 4-week blocks with a minimum of 6 shifts per block. Weekend, night, and holiday work is shared equally among team members.
  • Facilities: You may float between Dallas and Plano campuses. Dallas campus PICU manages 4-6 patients during day shift; Plano campus PICU manages 6-8 patients during day shift.
  • Responsibilities: Provide medical care for critically ill pediatric patients with single and multi-organ illness. Perform arterial line placement, central venous line placement, chest tube placement, endotracheal intubation, lumbar puncture, and PICC placement. In-house night call responsibilities are shared among team members who have completed orientation to nights.
  • Requirements: Allied Health Professional degree; TX NP License, CPNP-AC, BLS, PALS, and NRP certification required. Critical care experience is required, with consideration for comparable skillsets and critical care backgrounds.
  • Compensation: Weekly pay is $1,620.
  • Duration: 364 days, beginning May 4, 2026.
  • Note: Hours are not guaranteed during orientation week or when the unit is closed. No orientation is offered the last Mondays of the month.
