ICU RN Job in South Charleston, WV

Join WVU Thomas Health - Thomas Memorial Hospital as a Registered Nurse in the Intensive Care Unit. You'll provide direct care to critically ill patients with complex, life-threatening conditions across adolescent, adult, and geriatric populations.

Role Details

• Work 3 shifts per week, 12-hour nights (6:45 PM to 7:15 AM)
• Every other weekend requirement (Friday–Saturday or Saturday–Monday)
• Rotational holiday schedule with core staff
• Maintain nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:2, sometimes 1:3
• 91-day travel contract starting June 11, 2026
• Weekly pay: $2,358.72

Responsibilities

• Manage invasive and non-invasive hemodynamic monitoring
• Care for patients with sepsis, acute MI, renal conditions, post-vascular procedures, strokes, TIA, and seizures
• Titrate critical drips including vasopressors and sedation (Levophed, Cardizem, Amiodarone, Heparin, Insulin)
• Manage ARDS ventilator care, lumbar drains, and cardiovascular procedures
• Read telemetry strips independently (no monitor tech available)
• Float to Stepdown, Med-Surg/Telemetry, or Emergency Department as needed
• Work with BiPap, CPAP, mechanical ventilation, telemetry, and IV pumps
• Document in EPIC charting system

Requirements

• Current RN license
• Two years of critical care experience
• Travel nursing experience
• ACLS (AHA) and BLS (AHA) certifications required
• PALS, NIHSS, and TNCC certifications preferred
• Navy solid-color scrubs, closed-toed shoes; no crocs

Preferred Experience

• CRRT and IABP management
• Impella experience

Complete a hospital orientation, nursing orientation, computer training, and two 12-hour preceptor shifts upon arrival.
