RN - Med Surg Tele

Job Details:

• 12-hour shifts with 16 hours guaranteed per week
• Every other or every 3rd weekend depending on staffing and census
• No on-call responsibilities
• Required to work 1-2 of 3 summer holidays (Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day)
• Must float across all campuses within the health system
• Minimum 24 months of Med Surg/Med Surg Tele experience required
• EPIC EMR experience required
• Experience caring for psych patients preferred
• Patient ratio of 4-5:1 on a 24-bed unit
• Care for all types of med surg patients including post-op surgical hips/knees and potential psych overflow patients
• Administer heparin drips
• Remote telemetry monitoring
• Navy blue solid scrubs required
• BLS certification required (AHA or American Red Cross)
• Iowa nursing license required (compact/multistate accepted)
• No blocked shifts or 48-hour shifts allowed
• Department prefers candidates who can extend past initial 13-week contract
• First-time travelers accepted
