Med Surg RN Job in Petoskey, MI

You'll join McLaren Northern Michigan's 28-bed Medical Surgical Unit as a Registered Nurse working 3x12 days on an every-other-weekend schedule. This is a fast-paced environment where you'll care for a diverse patient population including general and vascular surgery, bariatric surgery, plastic surgery, trauma, and stroke patients.

What You'll Do:

• Provide direct patient care and develop individualized care plans in collaboration with an interdisciplinary care team
• Focus on patient safety and quality outcomes through evidence-based practice
• Utilize clinical pathways and patient education to support recovery
• Participate in Unit Based Council shared governance activities
• Work in a supportive environment with no on-call responsibilities

What You Need:

• Active Michigan nursing license with LARA and Nursys verification
• 2+ years of straight medical surgical nursing experience (no float, SDU/TELE experience)
• Level I or Level II trauma experience required
• BLS (AHA) certification
• Skills checklist completed within one year of application
• Travel experience preferred

Important: You must maintain strict attendance standards. Three strikes for absences or arriving more than 20 minutes late will result in immediate termination. You'll also have excellent learning opportunities whether you're a graduate nurse or an experienced clinician.

Assignment Details: 91-day contract starting June 15, 2026. Weekly pay is $2,436.48.
