MRI Technologist Job in San Francisco, CA

You will serve as an MRI Technologist in a leadership capacity at Sutter Health CPMC Van Ness Campus, overseeing operations across a multi-campus MRI program. This is a full-time role scheduled Monday through Friday, 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM, with 2 rotating weekend shifts during your 91-day contract starting September 21, 2026.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide operational leadership and support for a multi-campus MRI program spanning five MRI scanners across four locations
• Oversee approximately 30 full-time employees with staffing coverage extending from 5:30 AM through midnight
• Manage daily MRI operations including staffing coordination, schedule management, and operational planning
• Perform clinical MRI examinations as needed during periods of low staffing, call-offs, or vacations
• Oversee MRI safety compliance and regulatory requirements
• Support employee coaching, onboarding, and performance management
• Collaborate with radiologists, nursing, anesthesia, and operational leadership
• Identify and implement workflow improvement initiatives and monitor quality metrics
• Operate GE HealthCare MRI platforms across multiple software versions
• Support advanced imaging services including Neuro MRI, Cardiac MRI, Body MRI, Musculoskeletal MRI, Breast MRI, MRI-guided breast biopsy, Pelvic MRI, Prostate MRI, prostate ablation procedures, and Interventional MRI procedures
• Manage patient flow and optimize scanner utilization across campuses

Requirements:

• Minimum 8 years of MRI experience
• Supervisor or Charge experience required
• Required certifications: ARMRIT or ARRT R, ARRT MR, and BLS (AHA or ARC)
• Venipuncture and peripheral IV placement skills required

You will float across multiple CPMC campuses with shuttle transportation available daily. This position offers hands-on clinical work combined with leadership responsibilities in a dynamic healthcare setting.
