Opportunity:

Medical Laboratory - Medical Technologist

Job Details:

• Perform specimen processing, testing, and reporting of test results in compliance with regulatory requirements and policy and procedures
• Work in a hospital laboratory setting providing sub-specialties of service including chemistry, hematology, coagulation, urinalysis, blood bank, microbiology, and clinical microscopy
• Laboratory provides 24-hour coverage with rotating day, evening, and night shifts including weekends, holidays, and occasional overtime
• Medical Laboratory Technician candidates must have six (6) months of documented bench experience in each specialty including blood bank, microbiology, chemistry, and hematology
• Medical Laboratory Scientist candidates must have a minimum of one (1) year of approved clinical laboratory experience including clinical rotation through blood bank, microbiology, chemistry, and hematology
• Medical Laboratory Technician certification from a nationally recognized certification agency must be obtained within eighteen (18) months of hire and must remain unexpired and in good standing for the duration of employment
• Medical Laboratory Scientist, Medical Technologist, or Specialist certification from a nationally recognized certification agency must be obtained within eighteen (18) months of hire and must remain unexpired and in good standing for the duration of employment
• Medical Laboratory Technician education requirement: High school diploma or GED with either successful completion of an official military medical laboratory procedures course of at least 50 weeks, or 60 hours of accredited coursework including 24 semester hours of Medical Laboratory or Clinical Laboratory Science courses
• Medical Laboratory Scientist education requirement: Baccalaureate degree from an accredited institution with 48 semester hours of medical laboratory technology or clinical laboratory science courses, or equivalent coursework including chemistry, biology, and laboratory science
