Registered Nurse - PCU @ Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital

<p><strong>RN Position Job Notes:</strong></p> <p>Travel or Local Registered Nurse needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2+ years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available.</p> <p><strong>Opportunity:</strong></p><p>Registered Nurse - PCU</p><p><strong>Job Details:</strong></p><p>• Work 12-hour night shifts from 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM with 3x12 schedule<br>• Weekend requirement of 6 weekend shifts in a 6-week scheduling block<br>• Must work one holiday per 13-week contract<br>• Patient ratios typically 1:5 with staffing goal of 1:4<br>• EPIC charting experience required<br>• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS<br>• Minimum 1 year of experience required<br>• Travel experience preferred but first-time travelers accepted<br>• Must be comfortable with cardiac monitoring, emergency response, and dysrhythmia interpretation/management<br>• Perform IV therapy, phlebotomy, blood product administration, and central/peripheral line care<br>• Administer medications including cardiac drips without titration<br>• Provide respiratory support including nasal cannula, oxygen administration, and non-invasive airway management<br>• Neuro PCU experience required for stroke and neurology patients<br>• Manage isolation precautions and telemetry settings across PCU, IMC, and stepdown units<br>• Float within skillset to other PCU or medical-surgical level of care units as needed<br>• 32 hours of orientation provided<br>• Two pre-approved time off requests allowed</p><p><strong>Facility:</strong></p><p>This large acute care facility operates as a Level I Trauma Center with over 700 licensed beds and holds Magnet designation. The hospital is affiliated with Virginia Tech School of Medicine and serves as a teaching facility. The 12 West unit is a telemetry PCU specializing in stroke and neuroscience care as part of a Joint Commission certified primary stroke center.
