Opportunity:

RN - ER Float Pool

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour night shifts from 3:00 PM to 3:00 AM
• Every other weekend requirement
• Every other holiday requirement
• Must float within Zone 1 covering a 60-mile radius from Colorado Springs
• Float to five different facilities: Penrose Hospital, St. Francis Medical Center, St. Francis InterQuest, St. Mary Corwin, and St. Thomas More
• No home base facility - schedules released 4-6 weeks in advance
• Two scheduling options: assigned to single facility for the week or Just-In-Time assignments given 1-2 hours before shift
• Nurse to patient ratio of 1:4-5 based on acuity
• Required certifications: ACLS (AHA), BLS (AHA), NIHSS, PALS (AHA), TNCC
• Must be able to read and interpret telemetry strips
• Will be trained to perform Point of Care lab testing
• Navy blue scrubs required
• 2-3 days unit/department specific orientation
• Must obtain housing that makes floating within 60-mile zone feasible
• Hospital can cancel up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment
• Charting system: EPIC
• BSN not required
• Treat 40-168 patients per day depending on location
• Common diagnoses include abdominal pain, diabetes, NSTEMI, pneumonia, trauma, stroke, and hypertension
