PCU - Progressive Care Unit

Opportunity:

RN - PCU Stepdown

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• 36 guaranteed hours per week
• 13-week assignment
• Weekend hours required as directed by facility
• No call requirements
• Float on a rotational basis to critical care cluster or med/surg
• Night shift orients on day shift and must be available the entire week
• Patient ratios of 3:1 or 4:1 on a 26-bed Neuro Trauma Intermediate PCU unit
• Care for neuro, trauma, alcohol withdrawal, respiratory distress, and insulin drip patients
• Utilize nursing process to perform direct patient care activities including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation
• Coordinate patient care activities with ancillary departments to optimize patient care and comfort
• Equipment used includes Philips monitors, chest tubes, art lines, wound vacs, drains, EVDs, Nicom, BiPAP, and Airvo
• EMR system: EPIC
• Minimum 1 year of ICU experience required (inpatient only)
• Current RN license required - must meet criteria for Missouri licensure or be currently licensed in Missouri
• Required certifications: BLS and ACLS from AHA only
• Dress code: Black scrubs only or Mercy-logo attire
