Job Details:

• Day shift position in the Progressive Care Unit/Step Down unit
• Provide care to hemodynamically stable or predictably unstable patients who do not require ICU transfer
• Anticipated patient populations include post-op surgical patients, pre and post PCI care, pacemaker placement, revascularization, carotid endarterectomy, thoracotomy, CHF, COPD, DKA, renal failure, DVT, PE, and sepsis
• Operate advanced medical equipment including central lines, chest tubes, nasogastric tubes, continuous bladder irrigation, multiple IVs, and long-term stable ventilation support including CPAP and BiPAP O2 support
• Manage common IV medications including Heparin, Diltiazem, Dobutamine, Lasix, Amiodarone, and Dopamine
• Collaborate with other professional disciplines to ensure effective patient care delivery and achievement of desired patient outcomes
• Assess and implement established policies and procedures with minimal supervision
• Act as a clinical leader and assist with precepting staff
• Provide direct care from admission to discharge including discharge planning
• Give direction to RN, LPN, CNA, Housekeeping, and Dietary Staff
• Complement the Medical Surgical Nursing Unit when staffing actions are required
• Perform basic cardiac telemetry and EKG interpretation
• Pediatric experience preferred but not required
• Experience in post heart catheterization and post-surgical revascularization preferred
• Required certifications: Current State of Montana RN Licensure, BLS, ACLS, PALS
• Preferred certifications: EPNC, TNCC
