ADEX Healthcare Staffing is seeking a Pharmacist for a 91-day travel assignment at CHRISTUS St Frances Cabrini Hospital in Alexandria, Louisiana. This full-time position offers the opportunity to work in a hospital pharmacy setting with a stable schedule and competitive compensation of $3,605 weekly.

Position Details

  • Shift: 5x8 days with varying start times (6:00 AM – 2:30 PM, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM, 11:00 AM – 7:00 PM, or 3:00 PM – 11:00 PM)
  • Every other weekend requirement: 2 x 10-hour shifts
  • No on-call or floating requirements
  • Start date: September 7, 2026
  • Dress code: Pewter scrubs
  • Temp-to-perm possibility

Responsibilities

  • Prepare, compound, and dispense medications according to established policies and protocols, including non-sterile and sterile products, chemotherapy, and parenteral nutrition
  • Interpret and verify verbal and written drug orders into the computerized patient medication record
  • Monitor drug therapy regimens for contraindications, interactions, allergies, and dose appropriateness
  • Issue controlled substances and maintain records in compliance with institutional and legal requirements
  • Assist with pharmacokinetics consult services and renal drug dosing per hospital protocol
  • Detect and report suspected adverse drug reactions in a timely manner
  • Provide clinical consultation, drug information, and education to patients, families, and staff
  • Supervise pharmacy support personnel and verify daily activities of pharmacy technicians
  • Participate in antibiotic stewardship, opioid stewardship, and medication shortage management
  • Participate in quality improvement and medication use review activities
  • Attend interdisciplinary rounds as assigned

Requirements

  • Graduate of an ACPE-accredited School of Pharmacy with a Doctor of Pharmacy degree (preferred) or BS Pharmacy degree (accepted)
  • Louisiana state pharmacist license
  • Pharmacy registration in the state of practice
  • BLS or ACLS certification via AHA
  • Hospital pharmacy experience preferred
  • Current pharmacist license with valid CE records and licensure maintenance
