About this role
Glens Falls Hospital is seeking a Cytotechnologist for a temporary assignment in Glens Falls, NY. This is a full-time position working 5 days per week, 8-hour shifts during day hours, running for 91 days beginning August 27, 2026.
About the Role
You will perform specialized technical tasks in the processing and screening of cytological specimens to detect evidence of cancer and other pathological conditions. Your responsibilities include:
- Screen slides of clinical specimens—both gynecologic and non-gynecologic—for evidence of cancer or other pathological conditions according to departmental terminology and protocols
- Mark abnormalities, render diagnoses, and determine cases for quality control or subsequent review with the pathologist
- Perform rapid on-site evaluation (ROSE) using a tele-pathology system for the collection, processing, and immediate evaluation of Fine Needle Aspirations
- Conduct various Quality Control and Quality Assurance procedures to maintain compliance with internal and external regulations and protocols
- Work with EBUS, EUS, and Thyroid FNA procedures
What You Need
- Minimum 5 years of Cytotechnologist experience
- ASCP certification required
- New York state license required
- Experience with EPIC required
- Allied Health Professional degree
Compensation and Schedule
You will receive $2,736 per week. The position includes a standard weekday day shift schedule. Weekend and on-call requirements will be determined upon placement.
