Med Surg RN Job in Alexandria, LA

ADEX Healthcare Staffing is recruiting a Medical/Surgical RN for a 91-day travel assignment at CHRISTUS St Frances Cabrini Hospital in Alexandria, LA. You will work 12-hour day shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM on a 3x12 schedule, earning $2,286.36 weekly.

Role Overview

You will provide routine and complex nursing care to post-surgical patients with a focus on orthopedics, general surgery, and neurology populations. Your responsibilities include:

• Assess, diagnose, plan, intervene, and evaluate care for assigned patients using the nursing process
• Administer medications and treatments according to established protocols, monitoring for side effects and effectiveness
• Document patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided
• Address the psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families
• Assess patient learning needs and provide education to patients, family members, and caregivers
• Make appropriate assignments and delegate to other care providers as needed
• Maintain a nurse-to-patient ratio of 5:1 to 6:1 depending on staffing levels

Schedule & Requirements

This is a full-time position with no on-call responsibilities. Weekends may be required based on scheduling needs. Floating to other units is a potential requirement. You must hold a current RN License in Louisiana or possess compact state licensure.

Qualifications

• 1 year of experience in a related nursing specialty preferred
• Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing preferred
• BLS certification from AHA required
• EPIC experience is a bonus
