X-Ray Technician

Opportunity:

SMH General X - SMH : L1RAD : X-Ray Tech

Job Details:

• 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday during day shifts between 7:30 AM and 4:00 PM EST
• Schedule is 5x8s Monday through Friday, with potential consideration for 4x10s or 4x9s
• No on-call or holiday requirements
• Locations include Sawgrass and Marketplace (Miracle Mile)
• Verify patients' identity and review physician orders before beginning x-ray procedures
• Use x-ray equipment to take radiographic images of patients' bones, tissues, and organs per physician orders
• Explain x-ray procedures to patients and answer their questions
• Position patients accordingly, including lifting and moving patients with limited mobility
• Handle all radiologic equipment safely and keep radiation dose to patients as low as possible
• Observe each patient's status and interpret appropriate information to meet age-specific needs
• Produce diagnostic, high-quality images for interpretation by the Radiologist
• Promptly notify management of damaged or malfunctioning x-ray equipment
• Utilize electronic patient information systems to verify patient information and practice Dual patient identifier procedure
• Maintain accurate patient record keeping and ensure images are sent to the PACS system correctly
• Must be comfortable working in the OR and with portable x-ray equipment
• Experience using c-arm/o-arm within the past 8 months required
• Minimum 2 years of X-ray Technologist experience required
• Completion of formal training in an approved School of Radiologic Technology required
• Active ARRT certification required
• NYS Radiologic Technologist license required (or ability to obtain prior to start)
• BLS certification (AHA only) required
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift or move patients required
