Med Surg RN Job in Albany, GA

You'll work as a Registered Nurse on a 44-bed acute medical-surgical unit at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital in Albany, Georgia. This is a 12-hour day shift position (6:45 AM to 7:15 PM) on a 3x12 schedule, running for 119 days starting April 21, 2026. You'll earn $2,102.40 per week.

Your Role

• Care for patients with a typical ratio of 1:5, with possible ratios of 1:6 on both day and night shifts
• Work every other weekend with holiday coverage as needed
• Float to all acute care units, cardiology for medical patients, or the emergency department for acute care patient holds as needed
• Use the MEDITECH electronic medical records system (experience preferred but not required)
• Work alongside certified nursing assistants at ratios of 1:8, generally 1:10

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of experience in medical-surgical nursing
• Current BLS certification (AHA)
• Current NIHSS certification (AHA certified)
• Must live within a 75-mile radius of the hospital based on your driver's license address

What to Expect

• General orientation lasting 1 week, including EMR training
• Floor-specific orientation lasting 2 days
• 12-hour cancellation policy every 2 weeks
• Telemetry monitoring is available on the unit, though patients are monitored on a separate unit
• Dress code: Caribbean blue scrubs
• Work with a team of 40 staff members on your unit
