PCU RN Job in Asheville, NC

You will work as an RN in a 36-bed Progressive Care Unit at Mission Hospital in Asheville, NC. This is a night shift position running 3x12 hours, 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM, for a 91-day assignment starting February 23, 2026. Your weekly pay is $2,102.40.

Your Role

You will provide direct patient care in a progressive care setting with current night shift ratios of 1:6–7 patients. The unit is staffed with a charge nurse, 7 RNs, 3 CNAs, 0.5 HUC, and 1–2 sitters per shift. You will prepare patients for Endoscopy, Interventional Radiology, and Operating Room procedures.

Unit Details

• Work with medical remote telemetry monitoring, Cerner Patient Observation (CPO), and VC150s in every patient room
• Use workstations on wheels and Tap and Go computer/documentation access
• Document using the Cerner EMR system
• Float to sister Medical-Surgical units: 3W, 5W, and K8 as needed

Schedule Requirements

You must sign up for 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule. On night shift, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday count as weekend shifts.

Dress Code

Navy blue scrubs (top and bottom), white top with navy bottom, or all white.

Required Qualifications

• Current BLS certification

Preferred Qualifications

• Medical Telemetry experience
• Leadership experience
• Charge Nurse experience
• BSN degree
• CMSRN certification (encouraged)
