ICU - Intensive Care Unit

Opportunity:

RN - MICU

Job Details:

• Work in a 31-bed Medical Intensive Care Unit with patient ratios of 2:1, sometimes 1:1 or 3:1 depending on acuity and staffing
• Minimum requirement of 4 weekend shifts per schedule
• Schedule is done in 4-week increments with self-scheduling to an extent
• Contract labor is first to float, expected to float to med/surg units when needed
• Work with advanced equipment including ventilators, EVDs, CRRT, SLED, and EV 1000
• Use Meditech documentation system
• Assist with procedures including central line insertions, arterial line insertions, lumbar punctures, chest tube insertions, and EVD insertions
• Unit secretary staffed during day shift with occasional nurse extern working as a tech
• Required certifications: ACLS and BLS
• Must have active RN license and ICU experience
• Dress code requires navy scrubs (tops and bottoms)
• Expected to provide attentive and compassionate care to patients and family members
