ICU RN Job in Bristol, CT

Bristol Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse for its 14-bed Intensive Care Unit in Bristol, Connecticut. This is a 91-day travel assignment beginning September 8, 2026.

Position Overview

You will work 3x12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM with every other weekend requirement. The unit serves a mix of ICU, stepdown, and med/surg overflow patients. Nurse-to-patient ratios are 1:1–2, with flexibility up to 1:3–4 for overflow med/surg and telemetry patients. There is no on-call or standby requirement.

Clinical Responsibilities

• Care for patients with common ICU diagnoses including ETOH, suicide, DKA, sepsis, respiratory issues, carotid endarterectomy, urology, post-surgical conditions, open bellies, AAAs, A-lines, and minor CVAs not requiring intervention
• Titrate common ICU drips independently
• Read and interpret cardiac monitor strips independently
• Work with RT equipment including Draeger, Vision BiPap, V60s, Draeger Carina, and Puritan Bennett ventilators
• Float to med/surg or ER in a helping hands capacity only
• Chart using the MEDITECH system

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of ICU experience
• Current BLS certification
• Current ACLS certification
• BSN not required

Additional Information

Self-scheduling is available but finalized by the manager. Block scheduling is allowed but not guaranteed. You are required to wear navy scrubs.

Compensation

Weekly pay is $2,410.56.
