PACU Registered Nurse Job in New Orleans, LA

Ochsner Medical Center - New Orleans is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU). You will support patients across all major surgical services, including pre-op, Phase I, and Phase II recovery for both pediatric and adult populations.

About the Role

You will work within a department servicing 34 operating rooms across two floors. The first floor includes 6 ORs, 2 cysto suites, a shared Pediatric GI/Lithotripsy room, and cases for CT/MRI with high volume pediatric patients. The second floor services 28 ORs covering Endoscopy, Interventional Radiology, and pulmonary lab cases. You will be comfortable floating to pediatric PACU as needed.

Your responsibilities include:

• Care for patients of all ages in pre-op, Phase I, and Phase II recovery settings
• Perform and assist with special procedures including regional anesthesia and ECT
• Utilize special equipment including Hoyer lift, bladder scanner, and Accuvein
• Maintain a 1:2 patient ratio

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of experience in PACU or Pre/Post Op specialty
• Critical Care Post Op experience preferred
• Epic charting system experience required
• Current ACLS, BCLS, and PALS certifications required
• AHA certifications required
• Compact or Louisiana RN license required

Assignment Details

This is a 91-day travel assignment. You will work 3 shifts of 12 hours on nights, with 2–3 scheduled weekends per contract. The assignment begins July 20, 2026, and pays $2,044.80 per week.
