RN - Med Surg Neuro

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• Choose between 3x12 or 4x12 shift schedules with 36 or 48 hours guaranteed per week
• Work weekdays with every other weekend required
• Float within scope to like units to meet facility needs
• Patient ratio of 1:4-5 patients
• Care for patients with CVA, TBI, epidural and subdural hematoma, seizure disorders, spinal cord injuries and disorders
• Work in Epilepsy Monitoring Unit (EMU) with 24/7 EEG leads monitoring
• Manage lumbar drains and administer drips including heparin and some cardiac medications
• Handle telemetry monitoring with remote tele and RN verification of strips
• 26-bed unit providing neurological care
• Required certifications: BLS
• 2 years of RN experience required
• WV or Compact RN license required (pending license acceptable)
• First-time travelers accepted
• 16 hours of orientation provided every other Thursday
• Dress code: Royal blue or white scrubs
• Charting system: Cerner
• Must complete 2-6 hours of non-billable modules prior to start
• Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only during flu season October 1st - March 31st)
• Must live greater than 100 miles from facility (75-100 miles considered case-by-case)
