X-Ray Technician Job in Bakersfield, CA

You'll work as an X-Ray Technician at Mercy Hospital Downtown in Bakersfield, California. This is a 91-day travel assignment beginning June 22, 2026, with a weekly pay of $2,233.80.

Shift and Schedule

• Work three 12-hour day shifts per week (Saturday through Monday)
• Weekend rotation: every other weekend required
• Holiday coverage: 1 major and 1 minor holiday per assignment
• On-call rotating schedule with 30-minute response time
• Hospital may cancel up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment

Role Responsibilities

• Perform approximately 100 imaging studies per day
• Common studies include brain, MRCP, abdomen, pelvis, and extremities
• Operate GE and Toshiba imaging equipment in a 2-room department
• Use Radnet and Merge Unity PACS systems
• Chart via Cerner system
• May float to Mercy Southwest location (6.5 miles away) as needed
• IV starts are not required for this position

Requirements and Support

• Minimum 2 years of radiology experience
• Current ARRT certification
• Current BLS certification (AHA)
• One week of orientation provided by lead technologist
• In-house radiologist available
• Teal scrubs required for dress code
