PICU RN Job in Springfield, Missouri

You will provide direct patient care in a 12-bed pediatric intensive care unit on night shift (6:30 PM to 7:00 AM). This is a 13-week assignment with 36 guaranteed hours per week across three 12-hour shifts.

Your responsibilities include:

• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care for pediatric ICU patients
• Manage patients with varying acuity levels: intubated patients at 1:1 ratio, ICU-status patients at 2:1 ratio, and pediatric-status patients at 3:1 ratio
• Provide care to patients with trauma, burn, neurosurgery, pediatric surgery, respiratory, sepsis, endocrinology, chronic/tracheostomy, hematology/oncology, and orthopedic conditions
• Coordinate care with ancillary departments
• Perform physical patient care including standing, walking, lifting, and pushing patients (up to 50 lbs)

Requirements:

• Current RN license meeting Missouri state requirements
• Minimum 2 years PICU experience with ventilator competency
• At least 1 year post-orientation experience
• BLS, PALS (AHA only), and TNCC certifications
• Flu vaccination or approved exemption required November 1–April 1

Additional details:

• Work with EPIC EMR system
• Float to NICU, PICU, pediatric medical floor, or pediatric ED as needed based on patient volumes
• Weekend hours required as determined by facility
• No on-call requirements
• Night shift orientation occurs during day shift; you must be available the entire orientation week
• Black scrubs required; no jeans or unprofessional attire

You will earn $2,102.40 per week and begin March 27, 2026.
