Description
<p><strong>RN Position Job Notes:</strong></p> <p>Travel or Local Registered Nurse needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2+ years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available.</p> <p><strong>Opportunity:</strong></p><p>RN - CVICU</p><p><strong>Job Details:</strong></p><p>• Work in a 14-bed Cardiac Surgery Intensive Care Unit (CSICU)<br>• Provide care for 1-2 patients with complex cardiac diagnoses including CABGs, valve repair/replacements, aortic surgeries, VADs, total artificial hearts, and heart/liver/kidney transplants<br>• Handle thoracic cases, esophagectomy, and vascular surgeries<br>• Manage invasive hemodynamic monitoring and titration of vasoactive IV medications<br>• Provide post-operative recovery care and oversight for circulatory assist devices<br>• Work with specialized equipment including CRRT, ECMO, Impella, IABP, Heartmate, and Heartware devices<br>• Must have CSICU/CVICU experience at Level 1 trauma facility<br>• Minimum 2 years of experience required<br>• EPIC charting experience required with no exceptions<br>• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS<br>• Required skills: Conscious Sedation, Pulmonary Artery Lines, Telemetry, Vents, CRRT, IABP, ECMO<br>• Self-scheduling with every other weekend coverage required<br>• 36-hour orientation period<br>• May float within scope when needed<br>• BSN preferred<br>• Virginia or compact state license must be in hand at time of submittal<br>• Natural nail policy in effect<br>• Must complete required modules during orientation week</p><p><strong>Facility:</strong></p><p>This major academic medical center operates a comprehensive 14-bed cardiac surgery intensive care unit providing advanced cardiovascular care. The facility specializes in complex cardiac procedures and transplant services, offering state-of-the-art technology and interdisciplinary support teams including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, radiology, and rapid response teams.
