OR RN Job in Lake Charles, LA

ADEX Healthcare Staffing is recruiting a Travel RN for Operating Room support at CHRISTUS Ochsner Lake Area Hospital in Lake Charles, Louisiana. This is a 91-day assignment beginning June 22, 2026, with day shift hours 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday through Friday. You will earn $2,482 weekly.

Role Overview

You will provide comprehensive perioperative nursing care using the nursing process: assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation. You'll maintain a 1:1 nurse-to-patient ratio and manage various surgical cases across pediatric, adult, and geriatric populations. Your responsibilities include administering medications and treatments while monitoring for side effects and effectiveness, documenting patient history and care provided, and delivering patient and family education.

Surgical Cases

You will handle:

• Pain procedures (injections, Kyphoplasty)
• ENT surgeries (ear tubes, tonsils, sinus, thyroid)
• Urology procedures (cysto, TURP, PCNL, Lithotripsy, robotic procedures)
• Gynecology surgeries (total lap hysterectomy, ablations, D&C)
• Podiatry procedures
• General surgeries (cholecystectomy, appendectomy, hernias)
• Select orthopedic procedures (hip pinning, knee scope, shoulder scopes)

Note: L&D is a separate department; no C-sections or deliveries are part of this role.

Schedule & Location

Primary schedule is Monday–Friday day shift. You may be on-call or work late shifts 1–3 times per week and every 3rd to 4th weekend (Friday–Sunday). You may float between St. Pats and Lake Area campuses as needed.

Requirements

• Active RN License in Louisiana or valid compact state nursing license
• BLS from AHA (American Heart Association)
• 1 year of experience in a related nursing specialty (preferred)
• Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing (preferred)
