PACU - Post Anesthesia Care

RN - PACU

Job Details:

• Work predominantly 10-hour shifts with start times of 8:00 AM-6:00 PM, 9:00 AM-7:00 PM, or 10:00 AM-8:00 PM
• Primarily 12-hour shifts considered, with possible 8 or 10-hour shifts if department needs are met
• No on-call responsibilities for primary shift assignment
• Weekend call requirement of one 24-hour call shift per month from 7:00 AM to 7:00 AM
• Weekly call requirement includes 2 additional overnight call shifts per month from 11:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• Holiday call coverage rotation of 24 hours from 7:00 AM to 7:00 AM shared with permanent staff
• Up to 4 schedule requests per schedule period allowed, with flexibility based on unit needs
• Staff must be prepared to stay until cases are completed for the day and maintain flexible scheduling
• Float between inpatient and outpatient PACU, Surgery Center, and Anesthesia Clinic as needed
• Recover all general, neuro, thoracic, interventional cath lab, radiology, and simple procedure cases (open heart cases go directly to ICU)
• ICU patients recovered in PACU with the exception of open heart cases
• Must be able to read and interpret telemetry strips
• Work with ventilators managed per respiratory therapy
• Charting system: Allscripts/Sunrise EMR
• Typical PACU ratios for Phase 1 and Phase 2 recovery
• All areas include a blend of Phase 1 and Phase 2 recovery
• Scrubs provided for all areas except the Anesthesia Clinic; Navy Blue scrubs must be self-provided for Anesthesia Clinic assignments
• BSN not required
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS (AHA), PALS, and TNCC for inpatient and outpatient PACU and Surgery Center; BLS only required for Anesthesia Clinic
• Valid driver's license copy must be submitted with application
• Any licensing hits must be disclosed at time of submission
• Cancellation policy: 2 shifts per 13-week contract
