Med Surg RN Job in Mason City, IA

You'll join MercyOne North Iowa Medical Center as an RN on our Medical-Surgical Orthopedic unit. This is a 90-day travel assignment beginning June 15, 2026, with a weekly pay rate of $2,213.64.

Your Schedule

• Work 12.5-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• Three shifts per week
• Every third weekend included
• Every other holiday coverage required

Your Role

You will provide direct nursing care for medical-surgical orthopedic patients in a hospital setting. Your day-to-day responsibilities include monitoring patient recovery progress, assisting patients with orthopedic rehabilitation protocols, administering medications according to physician orders, and coordinating comprehensive patient care plans with the interdisciplinary team.

You'll document patient progress thoroughly in the electronic health record, communicate updates with physicians and other healthcare team members, and ensure patients receive safe, evidence-based orthopedic nursing care. Your attention to detail and commitment to patient safety will be essential as you support patients through their post-operative recovery and rehabilitation phases.

What You Bring

• Current RN licensure
• Experience in medical-surgical or orthopedic nursing preferred
• Strong communication and clinical documentation skills
• Ability to work night shifts and weekend rotations
