Description
<p><strong>RN Position Job Notes:</strong></p> <p>Travel or Local Registered Nurse needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2+ years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available.</p> <p><strong>Opportunity:</strong></p><p>RN - ICU Neuro</p><p><strong>Job Details:</strong></p><p>• Work 12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM<br>• 4 total weekend shifts required per 4 weeks<br>• Holiday coverage based on unit coverage needs<br>• May be placed on standby for scheduled shifts<br>• Patient ratio of 1:2 in ICU, 4:1 when floating to telemetry units<br>• Must have Level 1 trauma experience and minimum 2 years ICU experience in large hospital (450+ beds)<br>• EVD (External Ventricular Drain) experience required<br>• Strong neuro assessment skills and ICP monitoring experience mandatory<br>• Required certifications: BLS and ACLS<br>• Must pass Day 1 orientation exam (pass/fail)<br>• Complete SIMs Lab for Foley catheter insertion and central line dressing changes (pass/fail)<br>• Floating required between all ICU floors and telemetry units<br>• 2-shift floor-specific orientation provided<br>• Work with patients requiring critical care with neurological diagnoses<br>• Handle cases including craniotomies, brain tumor removals, brain biopsies, spine surgeries, and scoliosis repairs<br>• Use Cerner EMR system and Phillips monitors<br>• Must have own vehicle for travel<br>• Natural hair color required with no facial piercings<br>• Men must be clean-shaven for fit testing<br>• Scrub color: steel grey for neuro floors<br>• Hospital may cancel up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment</p><p><strong>Facility:</strong></p><p>This major medical center houses the world's largest neurological disease treatment and research institution, consistently ranked as one of the best neurosurgical training centers in the United States.
