PCU Registered Nurse Job in Wausau, WI

Aspirus Wausau Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse for its Progressive Care Unit (PCU). This 13-week travel assignment offers 3x12-hour night shifts with guaranteed 48 hours per week at $2,402.64 weekly.

Position Details:

• 12-hour night shifts: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
• Every other weekend and every other holiday required
• Float to all inpatient units as needed, including IMC and CTU
• Patient ratio of 1:4 on an 8-bed observation unit
• High volume of admissions and discharges; average patient stay up to 48 hours

Clinical Responsibilities:

• Care for patients with anemia, cellulitis, COPD, dehydration, pre and post-op urology and GI cases
• Monitor patients on cardiac drips including Cardizem, Nitro, Insulin, and Heparin
• Read and interpret EKG strips; EKG exam required during compliance

Requirements:

• Minimum 3 years of nursing experience
• 1 prior travel assignment required
• Background in observation units or Med-Surg/Telemetry units preferred
• EPIC charting experience required
• Current Wisconsin RN License, BLS, and ACLS certification (AHA or ARC)
• NIHSS certification highly preferred
• Associate Degree or Certificate in nursing

Assignment Terms:

• Start date: July 6, 2026
• Duration: 13 weeks (91 days)
• Contract includes 36 hours of low census unbillable time, available in hourly increments
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility
