PCU - Progressive Care Unit

Opportunity:

RN - PCU

Job Details:

• Every other weekend schedule required
• No on-call responsibilities
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience required
• Post-operative open heart care experience required
• Critical care experience highly preferred
• Chest tube and other drain management experience required
• Pre- and post-procedure care experience for patients with radial and femoral access required
• Proficiency in cardiac monitoring including reading and interpreting cardiac rhythm strips, and recognizing and responding to changes in cardiac rhythms required
• Advanced knowledge of cardiac and pulmonary abnormalities required
• Experience with the following procedures and equipment required: assisting with chest tube removal, assisting with removal of pericardial pacing wires, management of temporary pacers including pericardial and transcutaneous devices, use and troubleshooting of non-invasive ventilation (NIV) devices, high-flow oxygen, and other oxygen delivery systems
• Must be willing to float to all units within skill level
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care using age-specific criteria
• Assist in planning, directing, and teaching non-RN staff such as LPN/PCT and Unit Secretaries
• Required certifications: BLS (AHA), ACLS (AHA)
• Active Ohio nursing license required with Nursys verification
• Skills checklist completed within one year of application required
