Description

Opportunity:

RN - Med Surg Tele

Job Details:

• 3x12 or 4x12 shift schedule available - candidate preference should be indicated at time of submission
• Overtime applies after 48 hours on 4x12 schedule
• Every other weekend (EOW) required
• Float and holiday coverage required within contract
• Patient ratios are 1:7 for days, nights, and weekends
• Unit serves adults and geriatrics on a 29-bed Med Surg/Renal/Diabetic unit (5 West)
• Common patient diagnoses include CHF, COPD, SBO, diabetes, cellulitis, wounds, ESRD, GI, GU, oncology (no IV chemo), altered mental status, high fall risk, and patients requiring frequent IV antibiotics and blood products
• Special procedures include blood administration, heparin drips, wound care, NGTs, PEGs, surgical drains, and central line care
• Required skills include IV starts and telemetry interpretation
• Additional skills include BiPAP/CPAP management, blood product administration, cardiac telemetry, central line care, feeding tube care, heparin protocols, high flow nasal cannula, ABG interpretation, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, PCA, PICC line management, phlebotomy, tracheostomy care, wound care/wound vac, and pre/post cardiac cath and hemodialysis management
• Equipment used includes Alaris pumps
• Epic EMR proficiency required - no exceptions
• Required certifications: ACLS and BLS (American Heart Association)
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Travel experience required
• Virginia or compact license in hand at time of submittal - no exceptions
• EKG/telemetry test required - must score 80% or higher to pass (one attempt, no remediation available)
• 3 hours of pre-start modules required
• Candidate's permanent address must be at least 50 miles from the facility
