PCU - Progressive Care Unit

Opportunity:

RN - PCU Stepdown

Job Details:

• 12-hour night shifts with shift times of 6:30 AM to 7:00 PM or 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM
• Every other weekend requirement
• Every third holiday requirement
• No on-call or standby requirement
• Patient ratios of 1:4-5 with nurse aides/patient care techs at 1:10 or 2:20
• 35-bed unit serving adult and geriatric patients with diagnoses including cardiac, nephrology, strokes, diabetes management, and continuous EEG monitoring
• RNs required to titrate drips including Cardizem, beta-blockers, and seizure medications
• Floating requirements to medical floors, ICU, or rehab as needed
• First week of onboarding followed by 1-2 days of unit-specific orientation on the floor
• Fast-paced floor requiring a positive attitude, strong communication skills, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities
• Charting system: EPIC
• Required certifications: ACLS (AHA), BLS (AHA), NIHSS
• Driver's license required at submittal
• Artificial nails are prohibited in all patient care departments
• Pass/fail open book exam during orientation with a minimum score of 90% required to pass
