Opportunity:

RN - Tele Float Pool

Job Details:

• Night shift position working 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• 6-9 weekend shifts required within a 6-week schedule
• Schedule is released 4-6 weeks in advance by leadership; travelers are expected to be flexible and help fill gaps in permanent scheduling
• All time off requests must be submitted prior to starting assignment
• Float pool position covering Zone 1 (based around Colorado Springs, CO) within a 60-mile radius - NO home base facility
• Must be located at least 60 miles from each facility; responsible for obtaining housing that makes floating throughout the full zone feasible
• Floating facilities within Zone 1 include: Penrose Hospital, St. Francis Medical Center, St. Francis InterQuest, St. Mary Corwin, and St. Thomas More
• Schedules may follow Option A (scheduled at a single facility for the week with possible float within that facility) or Option B - Just-In-Time (facility assigned 1-2 hours before shift start via call)
• Float pool covers multiple units including General MS-Tele, Cardiac, Neuro, Oncology, Rehab, Renal, Bariatrics, Ortho, Trauma, and ED Obs
• May be asked to float into any acuity level including ICU (low acuity holds), PCU/Stepdown, and MS-Tele
• Nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:5-6 based on acuity
• Designated charge nurse on each unit; does not typically take a patient assignment
• Nurse aides available on unit
• Common patient population includes adults and geriatrics with diagnoses such as Cardiac, Neuro, Ortho, Oncology, Renal, Urology post-surgical, General Surgery, Gynecology, Psych/Detox, ENT, and General Medicine
• Required to titrate Heparin drips
• RT equipment in use including vents, CPAP, and BiPap
• Charting system: EPIC
• Rare on-call or standby requirement for low census situations
• Hospital may cancel up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment (3 shifts for assignments less than 13 weeks)
• Must have a minimum of 2 years of MS-Tele experience; prior neuro experience preferred
• BSN not required
• Required certifications: ACLS (AHA), BLS (AHA), NIHSS
