PCU - Progressive Care Unit

Opportunity:

Registered Nurse - PCU

Job Details:

• Work 3x12 hour night shifts from 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM
• May be every other weekend or 6 weekend shifts in a 6-week scheduling block
• Patient ratio of 1:5
• Required to float within skillset to other PCU or medical-surgical units
• Must work one holiday per 13-week contract
• Epic charting experience required
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• Minimum 1 year of experience required
• Experience with PCU/DOU/IMC/stepdown settings required
• Skills required: cardiac monitoring, emergency response, dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• IV therapy, phlebotomy, blood product administration, and central/peripheral line care
• Medication administration including cardiac drips (no titration)
• Respiratory support: nasal cannula, oxygen administration, non-invasive airway management
• Use of rapid response/code teams and isolation precautions
• May work without CNA support
• Serves adult and geriatric patient population with daily census of 27
• Hospitalist PCU with primary Pulmonary/GI focus
• No ventilators on this unit
• Previous charge experience preferred
• Trauma Level I experience preferred
