Opportunity:

RN - ICU Neuro

Job Details:

• Neuro ICU position with option to sign for 36 or 48 hours per week
• Patient ratio of 1:2 for days, nights, and weekends
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call required
• Float within service line or other ICUs as needed
• Minimum 2 years of experience required, with 2 years specifically in a neuro setting
• Experience in a Comprehensive Stroke Center preferred
• Care for adult patients with diagnoses including ischemic strokes (post-thrombectomy, post-tPA), neuromuscular disorders, seizure disorders, CNS infections, hemorrhagic strokes, subdural/epidural hematomas, ICP monitoring (EVDs/bolts), and neurotrauma (GSW, MVC, spinal cord injuries)
• Perform and manage vasoactive medications, central line/arterial line management, ICP monitoring, CRRT, hypothermia/hyperthermia management, and spinal precautions
• Operate special equipment including EVD and bolt
• Must pass Relias EKG exam; interpretation and management of dysrhythmias required
• Will complete 10 hours of stroke education during orientation (NIHSS can satisfy 3 hours if taken within the year)
• Required skills include BiPAP/CPAP management, care of ventilated patients, continuous IV sedation, CVA/acute stroke management, HFNC, interpretation of ABGs, phlebotomy, procedural sedation administration/monitoring, ventilator management, and starting/maintaining IVs
• Charting system: Epic (preferred experience)
• Scrub color: Navy Blue
• Guaranteed hours: 3 shifts per 13-week contract; cancelled shifts must be the regular assigned shift length
• Maximum of 7 days of RTO per 13-week contract
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• Preferred certifications: TNCC, BSN
• Trauma Level I experience required
