Registered Nurse - CVICU @ Novant Health Forsyth Medical Center

<p><strong>RN Position Job Notes:</strong></p> <p>Travel or Local Registered Nurse needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2+ years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available.</p> <p><strong>Opportunity:</strong></p><p>RN - CVICU</p><p><strong>Job Details:</strong></p><p>• Work 12-hour night shifts from 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM<br>• 36 or 48 hours per week available with 13-week contracts<br>• Patient ratios: 1:1 nights, 1:1 days, 2:1 weekends<br>• Every other weekend requirement with floating required<br>• Self-scheduling system<br>• Minimum 2 years critical care experience required<br>• Must have CVICU or open heart experience<br>• Travel experience required - no first-time travelers<br>• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS<br>• Required skills include interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, ECMO, IABP, post cardiac surgery care, Swan Ganz monitoring, TAVR, VAD management, arterial line management, blood product administration, central line care, continuous IV sedation, cardiac drip titration, ventilated patient care, ABG interpretation, and isolation precautions<br>• Preferred skills include port access/management, vasoactive drip titration, chest tube assistance, BiPAP/CPAP management, HFNC, and ventilator management<br>• Care for post open heart recovery patients, thoracotomies, esophagogastrectomies, and TAVR patients<br>• Work with specialized equipment including CRRT, Impella, IABP, VAD, and ECMO<br>• Use EPIC documentation system and PYXIS medication management<br>• Scrubs requirement: Navy, white, or combination of both<br>• Hospital orientation required first week with daily class attendance<br>• Must complete 8-10 hours of non-billable modules pre-start and annually<br>• Fatigue policy limits work to maximum 5 consecutive days and 60 hours per week<br>• NC or compact license required</p><p><strong>Facility:</strong></p><p>This major healthcare organization operates a comprehensive cardiac care program with a specialized post open heart recovery unit. The facility maintains a 14-bed CVICU with daily census of 11-14 patients and provides advanced cardiac services including TAVR procedures, thoracic surgeries, and complex cardiac interventions.
