About this role

IU Health Arnett Hospital is seeking a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) for acute care rehabilitation. You'll join a team of 19 professionals delivering therapy across all inpatient acuity levels, from ICU through progressive care units.

Role Overview

Your daily patient load will average 9+ patients. You'll implement plans of care focused on activities of daily living (ADL) training, therapeutic exercises, and functional activities designed to improve patient outcomes. You'll assess discharge disposition recommendations each day and work with diagnoses including cardiac procedures (CABG), stroke, traumatic brain injury, joint replacement, fracture repair, respiratory illnesses, dementia, multiple sclerosis, Parkinson's disease, and amputation.

Schedule & Commitment

  • Monday through Friday plus one weekend day per month
  • 5x8 hour shifts (Days)
  • 91-day contract
  • Start date: June 23, 2026
  • Must work 2 out of 3 major holidays
  • 100% floating required within the hospital or to nearby affiliate facilities

Requirements

  • Minimum 1 year COTA experience in acute hospital setting
  • Current BLS, Indiana state license, and NBCOT certification
  • Manual therapy and lymphedema certifications/licenses preferred
  • Cerner charting experience preferred
  • ADL experience with acute and chronic disorders, assessment, and functional activities

What We Provide

  • 40 hours of orientation
  • Weekly pay: $1,353.60
  • Dress code: Royal blue scrubs with black shoes

Productivity standards are set at 60% billable units. This is a hands-on role requiring adaptability across patient populations and settings within the IU Health system.
