ED - Emergency Room

Opportunity:

RN - ED ER

Job Details:

• Work in a Level 4 trauma emergency department treating 80-110 patients daily
• Nurse to patient ratios: 1:4 for general ED, 1:2 or 1:1 for ICU patients depending on acuity
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, ENPC or PALS, TNCC
• Minimum 2 years emergency department experience required
• Must have skills in conscious sedation, critical thinking, and AMI management
• Evening shifts with every other weekend requirement (Saturday/Sunday for days, Friday/Saturday for nights)
• Holiday requirements negotiable but must work some major holidays
• On-call requirement: 1 shift per 28-day schedule (day shift picks up day call, mid and night shifts pick up night call)
• Float between east and west ED locations, generally pre-scheduled
• Dress code: Navy blue dignity scrubs
• Handle common diagnoses including chest pain, abdominal pain, minor trauma, and respiratory distress
• Work with 24-bed unit featuring 4 critical rooms and 1 trauma room
• Manage ED holds and work in separate psych/seclusion rooms when needed
• Collaborate with ED techs, paramedics, and respiratory therapists
• Use Cerner charting system
• Hospital orientation includes two days plus one 12-hour shift at each ED location with mentor
