About this role
You will work as an RN in the Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) at Overland Park Regional Medical Center in Overland Park, Kansas. This travel position runs for 91 days, beginning June 1, 2026, with a 4x10 day shift schedule from 7 AM to 5 PM.
Your Role
You will provide specialized nursing care for patients undergoing cardiovascular surgery. Your responsibilities include supporting the surgical team across all phases of patient care—pre-operative assessment and preparation, intra-operative assistance and monitoring, and post-operative recovery management. You will monitor patients recovering from cardiac procedures, ensuring they meet critical milestones and respond appropriately to intervention. Working collaboratively with cardiovascular surgeons, perfusionists, and the broader surgical team, you will help deliver optimal patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver specialized nursing care in the cardiovascular operating room environment
- Assist with pre-operative patient preparation and assessment
- Provide intra-operative support, including monitoring, positioning, and instrument management
- Monitor post-operative recovery and vital sign stabilization
- Maintain competency in cardiovascular nursing protocols, techniques, and procedures
- Communicate effectively with the surgical team to ensure coordinated, safe care
- Document patient care and outcomes accurately
Compensation and Schedule
You will earn $2,774 weekly for this assignment. The position is structured as a 4x10 schedule, working four ten-hour days per week on day shift (7 AM–5 PM).
