RN - ICU Neuro

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour night shifts from 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM
• 36 hours per week can be offered
• Every other weekend requirement
• Patient ratios typically 2:1, may flex to 3:1 during high census periods
• Floating requirement within hospital or affiliate hospitals
• No call requirement
• Must have minimum 2 years of Neuro ICU experience (no exceptions)
• Travel experience required - unit will not accept first-time travelers
• Required certifications: ACLS, BCLS, NIH Stroke Scale
• Must pass EKG testing prior to start
• Strong neuro critical care background required, not just general ICU
• Experience with ventilators, IV starts, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias required
• Blood product administration, central line care/management, continuous IV sedation experience needed
• CVA/Acute stroke management, external ventricular drains (EVD), ICP monitoring required
• Post neurosurgery management and lumbar drain experience essential
• Care of ventilated patients and isolation precautions/PPE use required
• Arterial line management experience preferred
• Work with specialized equipment including EVD, lumbar drains, Camino, LICOX, NICOM, and Arctic Sun
• Use Epic charting system, Pyxis, and SBAR communication
• 24 hours of unit orientation over 2 days or nights
• Navy blue and white scrub colors required
• Maximum 7 days RTO allowed, cannot work more than 5 consecutive days or 60 hours per week
• Must work 2 out of 3 major holidays
• Complete 8-10 hours of non-billable modules pre-start and annually
