Opportunity:

RN - Med Surg Tele

Job Details:

• 12-hour orientation provided
• 6:1 patient ratio for days, nights, and weekends
• Work with adult and geriatric patient populations
• 24-bed unit with daily census of 24 patients
• Weekend coverage required with every other holiday
• May be pulled to all other inpatient units as needed (agency travelers are first to be pulled)
• No guarantee of specific scheduling requests such as block scheduling
• Must be willing to participate in Emergency Team assignments during facility emergencies
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, Telemetry
• 2 years of experience required
• Epic charting system experience preferred
• Must live over 65 miles from facility (no local travelers accepted)
• Compact or Louisiana license required upon submittal
• NURSYS report required with profile (within 4 weeks of submission)
• Care for patients with chest pain, CAD, PVD, arrhythmias, diabetes, COPD exacerbations, pneumonia, hypertension, MI, renal failure, pulmonary embolism, CHF, GI bleeds, and syncope
• Handle pre/post cardiac catheterization procedures, pacemaker/AICD procedures, ablations, and vascular surgeries
• Perform sheath removal at bedside and titrate cardiac drips including Cardizem, Amiodarone, Dobutamine, Nitroglycerin, Dopamine, and Heparin
• Work with telemetry monitoring, chest tubes, PCAs, epidurals, and wound vacs
• Skills required include dysrhythmia interpretation and management, blood product administration, central/peripheral/PICC line care, IV starts, port accessing, and wound care management
