About this role
You will work as a Registered Nurse in the Cardiothoracic Operating Room (CVOR) at Piedmont Macon Medical Center in Macon, Georgia. This is a travel assignment with a duration of 84 days, beginning July 20, 2026. You will work four 10-hour shifts per week, days only, earning $2,822.40 weekly.
Position Overview
You will provide direct patient care in a high-volume surgical setting. The facility performs approximately 25 surgical cases daily across 8 operating rooms, with a 1:1 patient ratio during day, night, and weekend shifts. You must maintain a valid Georgia or Compact nursing license and have a minimum of 2 years of CVOR experience; first-time travelers are accepted.
Schedule and Call Requirements
Your schedule includes call duty of 12–15 days within each 6-week period, with a minimum of 2 weekends included in call rotation. Weekends appear only in your call obligations. You may request a maximum of 7 days off during the contract; all time-off requests must be finalized at submission. If one or two major holidays fall during your assignment, you are expected to work all of them. If three major holidays occur, you are expected to work two.
Clinical Responsibilities
You will float within facility scope of practice, including the main operating room and to a sister hospital campus as needed. Key skills include Coronary Artery Bypass Graft (CABG), Mitral Valve Replacement, MAZE Procedure, Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement (TAVR), TEVAR, Atrial Septal Defect Repair, Cell Saver operation, and Universal Protocol. Preferred skills include Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm Repair, Carotid Endarterectomy, Endovascular Aneurysm Repair, Femoral Popliteal Bypass Graft, Arteriovenous Fistula Repair, and Vein Stripping. You will serve adult and geriatric patient populations.
Requirements and Support
You must hold current ACLS and BLS certifications; CNOR and TNCC certifications are preferred. Epic charting system experience is required. Trauma Level I experience is preferred. You will complete 24 hours of orientation upon arrival. The facility offers interdisciplinary support including IV Teams, Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Pharmacy, Radiology, and Rapid Response Teams.
